asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each of the four permanent off-street car parks in Dublin the vehicle accommodation provided; if he will give like particulars in respect of the twenty-six temporary sites in the centre city area; and the steps which are being taken to provide off-street car parking to cater for cars now accommodated on the temporary sites.

At present, detailed information in regard to the conversion to other uses of the 26 temporary off-street car parks in central Dublin and the steps being taken to provide off-street car parking to cater for cars now accommodated on these sites is not readily available, but Dublin Corporation are being asked to supply the information and, on hearing from them, I will write to the Deputy. The corporation have indicated that, while temporary sites are lost for parking purposes, due to their conversion to the permanent use for which they were acquired, other temporary sites become available as further sites are acquired for other purposes.
The accommodation provided in each of the four permanent and 26 temporary car parks in the centre city area is set out in a tubular statement which I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to have circulated with the Official Report.
