Vol. 218 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 5 and 6. Private Members' Business will be taken from 6 to 7.30 p.m. when the debate will be resumed on No. 13 on the Order Paper.

On 20th October, I addressed Question No. 55 to the Minister for Finance which I then requested permission to raise on the Adjournment. I should like to raise this matter with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, on the Adjournment tonight.

I shall communicate with the Deputy in the course of the afternoon.

Would the Ceann Comhairle tell us what items in Private Members' Business are being taken?

No. 13. There are two hours and 45 minutes remaining.

If it should finish, what will follow?

The next item on the Paper.

Might I ask the courtesy of the Chair, owing to the complications about Private Bills, et cetera, to tell me what is the next order on the Paper for consideration?

The Electoral Bill.

Number 15?

It is now suggested to me that No. 14 will not be the next item on the Order Paper. Who is right?

That is a Party agreement.

I could not tell you. All I am asking you is what comes after the motion at present under consideration.

No. 14 on the Paper.

You say it is?

Yes. If it is not taken, then No. 15.

No, Sir. If No. 14 is not taken, No. 15 cannot come yet because the Fine Gael motion is being taken at present and the next which will come is the one nominated by the Labour Party, which is No. 19.

No. 14 is the next on the list to be taken. Whatever arrangements have been made between the Whips, I know nothing of them.

The procedural arrangements is that they will be taken in rotation.

I go by procedure.
