Vol. 218 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Standards for Prefabricated Houses.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government if any decision has been reached by his Department regarding minimum standards for prefabricated houses.

No separate minimum standards have been prescribed for prefabricated dwellings. To qualify for grant and subsidy they must conform to the Department's general standards in relation to densities, room sizes, ceiling heights, insulation, and so on. Other aspects of proposals for dwellings of other than traditional construction are considered on the merits of each individual proposal.
