Vol. 218 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laois Telephone Kiosk.

52.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the local guild of Muintir na Tíre requested that a telephone kiosk be provided at Spink, Ballinakill, County Laois; that this request was refused on the grounds that it would be uneconomical; and that people in this area live four to five miles from the nearest telephone, apart from a private telephone at Spink Creamery; and if he will now reconsider the matter and have the necessary service provided for the local people.

The use likely to be made of a kiosk at the place in question would not be sufficient to justify its provision.
