Vol. 218 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inchicore (Dublin) Flats.

11.

(Dublin South-Central) asked the Minister for Local Government if he considers that the flats in Keogh Square, Inchicore, Dublin are both dangerous and undesirable for human habitation; and what are the immediate plans for this area.

I have no information that any of the flats which are occupied at Keogh Square are in a dangerous condition. It is, however, accepted, that they are, in general, substandard as regards their suitability for human habitation. I understand that the flats are being kept under constant surveillance by the corporation's officers, and that they are being closed as rapidly as the improvement in the general housing situation permits. The corporation intend to re-develop Keogh Square in due course with a scheme of modern flats.
