Vol. 218 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dingle Fishing Facilities.

40.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries whether he has any proposals arising from the meeting held between his Department's representatives and local fishermen in Dingle on 28th October; what matters were discussed at this meeting; and what action he proposes to take, particularly in the matter of dredging and the handling of fish and boats.

The main questions discussed at the meeting referred to by the Deputy were concerned with

(1) the need for harbour improvements;

(2) the provision of facilities locally for the storage of fish and for the unloading of catches and

(3) the unsatisfactory position of hire purchasers' accounts with An Bord Iascaigh Mhara.

The representations made by the fishermen are under consideration by my Department and An Bord Iascaigh Mhara.
