Vol. 218 No. 10

Written Answers. - Local Authority Rents.

52.

asked the Taoiseach if he will furnish particulars of rents of local authority houses at a recent date in the form of a reply of 8th March, 1961.

The rental data for local authority dwellings included in the Consumer Price Index relate to the figures for total weekly rent, including rates, of all occupied rented dwellings. The rent inquiry is made at mid-November each year. Data for 1965 are therefore not yet available. The following statement shows for each county, county borough and for Dún Laoghaire Borough the number of occupied rented local authority dwellings, together with the average weekly rent, including rates, for which data were included in the Consumer Price Index for November, 1964:

NUMBER of occupied rented dwellings owned by local authorities in each County, County Borough and Dún Laoghaire Borough together with the average weekly rent (including rates) of such dwellings in each area, as used in the compilation of the Consumer Price Index at mid-November, 1964.
