Vol. 219 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Blanchardstown (Dublin) Pedestrian Crossing.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of any plans to provide a pedestrian crossing in Blanchardstown, County Dublin.

The provision of pedestrian crossings is a matter in the first instance for the local authority concerned at the request or with the consent of the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána. Proposals in the matter come before my Department only when a grant towards the work is sought.

I understand that, at present, the need for a pedestrian crossing at Blanchardstown is being examined by the county council and the Garda Síochána but no proposal has yet been received in my Department.
