Vol. 219 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Farm Drainage.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government the estimated cost of providing drainage into the Dublin Corporation sewer for Wilkinson's farm at Ballymun, Dublin; and why the same drainage capacity could not have been provided for the public authority land at Santry Court.

No drainage has so far been provided for Wilkinson's farm nor is any such drainage proposed at this stage. Consequently, it is not possible to state the estimated cost. Should the need arise, it will be possible to connect these lands to the sewer and surface water drain serving the Ballymun project which is drained by the North Dublin drainage scheme.

The present capacity of this scheme provides for the drainage of lands in the Santry area. The allocation of drainage facilities to individual lands in this area is a matter for determination by the county council in the light of their planning policy for the area generally.
