Vol. 219 No. 4

Diseases of Animals Bill, 1965: Financial Resolution.

I move:

That it is expedient to make provision for the charging of such fees and the imposition of such other charges as may be prescribed by order of the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries under any Act of the present session to consolidate with amendments the enactments relating to diseases of animals and to provide for certain other matters relating to animals.

How much does the Minister expect to raise under this Resolution?

Nothing—practically nothing.

Why practically nothing? Why do you bring it in at all?

The Parliamentarians assure me that it is necessary.

It is a taxing resolution, of course—another Budget.

Question put and agreed to.
Resolution reported and agreed to.
