Vol. 219 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Tipperary Estates.

37.

asked the Minister for Lands the up-to-date position with regard to the acquisition and division of estates at Barronstown and Kingswell, County Tipperary.

The Frewen estate at Barronstown, comprising some 65 acres, was purchased by the Land Commission last January. A plot of 2 acres has been allotted to the county council and there is hope that a scheme for the disposal of the balance of the estate may be operated in the coming spring.

Of a total of 242 acres purchased on the O'Dwyer estate at Sadleirswells (known locally as Kingswell), about 148 acres have been disposed of to date. Arrangements for allotment of the remaining 94 acres are in hand and will be pushed forward as rapidly as possible.
