Vol. 219 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rhodesian Crisis Discussions.

4.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for External Affairs whether any discussions were held between the Irish Embassy in Lagos and the Nigerian authorities on the Rhodesian crisis; or whether the Embassy were in touch with other African diplomatic missions in Lagos on this matter.

Our Embassy at Lagos has not made any approach to the Nigerian authorities about the Rhodesian crisis. Officers of the Embassy have, of course, taken advantage of their normal contacts with their African and other colleagues to exchange information on this important matter of current interest.
