asked the Minister for Finance what is the fee payable to State counsel in prosecutions in the Circuit and Central Criminal Court where legal aid is assigned to the accused.

The fees paid to State counsel in prosecutions in the Circuit Court and in the Central Criminal Court are measured in each particular case by reference to its importance, complexity, duration and other relevant circumstances. These fees are decided in each case irrespective of whether legal aid has been assigned to the accused or not.
