32.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the external banking reserves in respect of the central bank, associated banks and departmental funds, giving mid-monthly returns for July, August, September, October and November.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

The figures for the Associated Banks are computed on a selected date in each month; the selected date is the third Tuesday in the month except September when it is the last Tuesday.

33.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Finance if he will state as at January in respect of the past ten years (a) commercial banks' external assets plus their deposits with the central bank, (b) liabilities, both current and deposit within the State, and (c) the ratio so calculated; and if he will give similar figures to the nearest available date.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the total advance in bills, loans etc. by commercial banks for the financial years 1960-61 to 1964-65 giving the amount advanced to (a) the Government sector and (b) the private sector for each year; and if he will give similar figures from 31st March 1965 to the latest available date.
