Vol. 219 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Voting Age.

47.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, following the British Government's intention of reducing the eligible age for voting from 21 to 18, whether the Government have given any consideration to this matter; and whether they consider such a change desirable in this country.

Amendment of the Constitution to reduce the minimum age for voting is not at present contemplated.
