Vol. 220 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - CIE Uniform Buttons.

17.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power why buttons used on uniforms worn by workers employed by CIE are manufactured in Britain in view of the present Buy Irish campaign.

I am informed by CIE that buttons used on uniforms issued to CIE staff are purchased direct from suppliers by uniform manufacturers who advise that the buttons are of Irish manufacture with the exception of chrome plated metal buttons which are unobtainable in this country.
