asked the Minister for Finance what is the present position in regard to the restoration and reconstruction of Daniel O'Connell's house at Derrynane, County Kerry; the estimated over-all financial cost; and who is responsible for the upkeep of the lands.

The Commissioners of Public Works are at present undertaking the restoration of Derrynane Abbey and the total cost is estimated at £10,000.

Only the ground immediately surrounding the house, approximately 9½ acres, is vested in the Commissioners who will be responsible for its upkeep.
