Vol. 221 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Heifer Grant Payments.

28.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the reasons for the delay in payment of £15 heifer grants.

There is no undue delay in the payment of these grants. Payment has, in fact, been made in respect of 93 per cent of the heifers accepted for grant.

Surely the Minister knows that people who made application three months ago have not yet been paid?

I do not know of any such case.

If you put down a question on 10 days' notice he will always pay in order to avoid having to admit here that they have not been paid.

Payment has been made in respect of 93 per cent of the heifers eligible.

On what date were they paid? I know people who have been awaiting payment since last April.

Tell me about them.

If you put down a question they will be paid.
