Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal River Development.

11.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if, in view of the fact that the ESB have a meter gauge in operation since 1951 on the Owengarrow river which is a tributary of the Owenea river, Glenties, County Donegal, they have now sufficient data to enable them to say if they propose developing this river for electricity.

I am informed by the ESB that data being collected on the Owengarrow river is part of a hydrometric survey into the water power resources of the country which is being continuously carried out by the Board. The Board have no immediate plans for the development of this catchment area.
