Vol. 221 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Intermediate Certificate Mathematics.

31.

asked the Minister for Education if he will remedy the injustice whereby students who fail to secure a pass in mathematics in the Intermediate Certificate examination thereby forfeit the entire examination; and on what educational data this is based.

My Department is at present in consultation with the recognised school associations with regard to the conditions for the award of the Intermediate Certificate.

I would not feel it open to me to make a statement on any aspect of this question while such consultation is in progress.
