Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Land Congestion.

44.

asked the Minister for Lands what steps are being taken to relieve land congestion in the village of Russletown, Milltown, County Galway.

The Land Commission are in possession of 21 acres in this district. Proceedings are at present in progress for the voluntary purchase of some 30 acres and a further area of about 290 acreas is on record for inquiry by the Land Commission with a view to ascertaining its suitability for land settlement purposes. The possibility of effecting some migration from the district is also under consideration.

Any further opportunities for obtaining land by way of either migration or acquisition for the relief of congestion in Russletown will be fully examined as they arise.
