Vol. 221 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garda Headquarters Buildings.

55.

asked the Minister for Justice the estimated and actual cost of the new buildings erected in the Garda Headquarters, Phoenix Park, Dublin, and their purpose.

The only new building at Garda Headquarters consists of an extension, at present under construction, of the Depot Transport Workshop and garage accommodation. The estimated cost of this work is about £70,000; the final cost is not yet available as the work is still in progress.

The purpose of the new building is to provide adequate facilities for the servicing of the Garda transport fleet of cars, vans and motor cycles, and to centralise there the servicing and repair works carried out at present at the Depot and Dublin Castle.
