Vol. 221 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Butter Subsidy for Island Areas.

54.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will state, further to previous replies on the matter, if he is now in a position to make a statement on the provision of a special butter subsidy for the island areas where creamery facilities are not available.

I shall make an announcement at an early date.

Will the Minisster not agree that he promised me definitely that an announcement would be made before 1st March and this is now 9th March? I gave him every opportunity, without troubling him further.

It will be only a matter of a week or so at the outside.

I will be able to talk about it this evening. I hope it will be favourable. I know the Minister would like to make an announcement himself rather than in reply to my question.

These announcements have to be made properly.
