asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that the River Ayle, is subject to flooding along its entire course causing severe damage, particularly in the townlands of Arderry, Glensane, Garranagerva, Touaglana and Shraheens, County Mayo; and if he will have the course of this river surveyed with a view to having it cleaned and deepened.

This river will be considered for inclusion in a drainage scheme for the Corrib-Mask catchment. The design of a scheme for the catchment is proceeding.
