I am informed by Bord na Móna that stocks of machine turf on hands on 28th February, 1966, at the four bogs referred to are estimated as follows:

Due to the very unfavourable harvesting season experienced last year, a large proportion of this turf is still unfit for sale and will require a considerable amount of handling and drying before reaching saleable condition.
