asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries (1) the number of cattle turned down under the bovine tuberculosis scheme during each of the years 1962 to 1965 in County Galway; (2) the number of full herds that failed; and (3) the highest price paid for such herds.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Bovine TB Reactors.
68.
The numbers of reactors were as follows:
1962 |
1,295 |
1963 |
965 |
1964 |
618 |
1965 |
1,161 |
During that period all the animals in each of two herds were found to be reactors.
It would not be in accordance with the usual practice to give particulars of the numbers of animals and compensation paid, as the herds concerned could readily be identified.
