Written Answers. - Sanctioning of Housing Schemes.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of Meath County Council, Louth County Council and Dublin County Council as regards houses included in schemes (i) awaiting sanction to tenders, (ii) awaiting sanction to loans, (iii) in respect of which tenders were accepted but not submitted for sanction, the amount involved under (i) to (iii).

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of Meath County Council, Louth County Council and Dublin County Council the number of houses (a) at the plans sanctioned stage, (b) at near tender stage, (c) awaiting sanction to tenders and (d) awaiting sanction to loans; and the number of new houses which each authority will be permitted to commence after 1st April 1966 in the present year.

It is proposed to take Questions Nos. 40 and 41 together.

No decision has been made in regard to the number of new houses which each housing authority will be permitted to commence after 1st April, 1966, in the present year. When the housing capital allocations were being notified, housing authorities were asked to decide the works which they would undertake on the basis of these allocations and were informed that a general re-appraisal of the situation would be made later this year in regard to any works which it was not possible to release on this basis.

NOTES:

* A number of the dwellings included in Column (1) are also included in Column (2) as proposals involving both tenders and loans are before the Department.

†Information is not available in the form requested by the Deputy in regard to the number of houses at plans sanctioned and near tender stage. The particulars set out in Columns (3) and (4) represent the nearest available information.
