Vol. 222 No. 10

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Rhodesian Association Notices.

2.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he is aware that an organisation called the Irish Rhodesian Association has posted public notices in Dublin giving its version of the Rhodesian question and that it also issued newspaper statements; and if he will take steps to prohibit the posting of these notices in view of this country's non-recognition of the Rhodesian regime.

As far as I am aware no organisation calling itself the Irish Rhodesian Association exists in Dublin but statements purporting to come from an Irish Association in Rhodesia have been published in the Irish newspapers. Neither am I aware that posters purporting to give an Irish Rhodesian Association version of the Rhodesian question have been displayed here.

Action to prohibit the display of posters is, of course, a matter for the Garda Síochána and depends upon their placement and content.
