Vol. 222 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Value of Salmon Catches.

32.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the total sterling value of all salmon, as distinct from grilse, caught in the Republic during the year 1965.

As I informed the Deputy on 11th May, the records of catches do not differentiate between salmon and grilse, but I estimate the value of the salmon catch in 1965, as distinct from grilse, at about £280,000, the total value of the salmon and grilse being about £780,000.
