Vol. 222 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Closing of Schools.

43.

asked the Minister for Education if he is prepared to have discussions with the manager and parents of children before he decides to close any particular school throughout the country.

There is discussion with the Manager in every case. Should the Manager so request arrangements are made for a representative of my Department to attend a meeting of the parents. Furthermore in particular cases joint deputations of managers and parents' representatives have been received.
