Vol. 223 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rosses Point (Sligo) Pier.

38.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgency of providing a pier at Rosses Point; and what the present position is in the matter.

Sligo County Council were notified in January, 1965, that the proposed pier scheme was approved in principle for execution under the Department's amenity grants scheme. Revised design details submitted are at present the subject of correspondence with the local authority, while further details of access and car-parking provisions are awaited. So far as the Department is concerned, the outstanding matters will be dealt with as expeditiously as possible, so that the work may proceed.
