Vol. 223 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - County Dublin Sewerage Service.

13.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position in relation to the installation of sewerage service in the area of Turnapin and Cloghran, County Dublin.

Dublin County Council's application for a loan to finance this and a number of similar schemes is under examination in my Department in conjunction with the overall availability of capital for works of this kind during the present year.

In view of the fact that this appears to have been under discussion, consideration, and all kinds of deliberation for some years, can the Minister say when the residents of Turnapin and Cloghran can expect to have toilets?

I suppose the short answer is "after they have service", I presume. It is the services the Deputy is interested in, and I can only say in regard to this that the scheme is under consideration and I hope it will be cleared during the present calendar year, that the work will commence sometime thereafter, and that when completed, toilet and such facilities can then be usefully provided.

In view of the unsatisfactory nature of the Minister's reply, I ask permission to raise this matter on the Adjournment.

You did hear it.
