Vol. 223 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authority Housing Proposals.

7.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government the number of houses each local authority propose to erect in 1966-67.

Separate estimates have not been submitted by housing authorities generally of the number of houses which they propose to erect in 1966-67. It is estimated, however, that in all about 3,600 local authority dwellings will be completed in the current financial year. With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate, with the Official Report, a statement showing the number of local authority houses in progress in each area at present which will give the Deputy general guidance as to where these dwellings are likely to be built.

Following is the statement:

Number of dwellings in progress at 31st May, 1966.
