Vol. 223 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Building Grants.

26.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will consider an increase in the farm building scheme grants to the farmers of the west of Ireland, because the present high cost of work under these schemes does not permit the small western farmers to avail themselves of such grants.

Contrary to what the question suggests, there is in fact a keen demand for farm buildings scheme grants in western small farm areas. The levels of grant are kept under review and have been increased and extended as circumstances warranted.
