Vol. 223 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Contamination of Foodstuffs by Rats.

30.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the quantity of agricultural foodstuffs, including cereals of all kinds, that have been contaminated by rats in each of the years 1960 to 1966 up to a convenient date; and if he will state particulars of the assistance, if any, rendered to the farming community by his Department to combat this menace.

Statistics on the lines indicated are not available. Advice on rat control measures is given in my Department's Leaflet No. 135, which is distributed free of charge.

I hope the rats soon leave the sinking ship.
