Vol. 223 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Banks Dispute.

4.

Mr. O'Leary

asked the Minister for Finance if he contemplates any emergency measures through the agency of the Central Bank, in view of the present failure of banking authorities and the banking staffs to settle their dispute, to allow normal cash transactions in the commercial sector of the economy.

It would not be possible during the bank dispute to ensure normal cash transactions in the commercial sector of the economy. Emergency measures, as suggested in the question, are not contemplated.
