Vol. 223 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aran Island School.

14.

asked the Minister for Finance whether there are any plans before his Department for the erection of a new school to replace the old national school at Onaght, Kilmurvey, Aran Islands, County Galway.

It is hoped that a tender will shortly be accepted for the erection of a new school to replace Onaght national school. The Manager has been asked to lodge the local contribution.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary give me any date as to when the work on the school will start? I had a question down on this matter before and I got a somewhat similar reply. The problem is a difficult one and I know that the Parliamentary Secretary is aware of it and as anxious as I am to see it provided.

The reply given to Deputy Molloy when he asked this question before is not similar to the one given now. The situation then was that no acceptable tender had been received. That is not now the situation.
