asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position regarding the proposal by Kerry County Council to provide a new water supply at Tarbert, County Kerry; and if in view of the fact that this supply is urgently needed for the new generating station there, he will take steps to expedite the provision of the supply.

A preliminary report on the North East Kerry Regional Water Supply Scheme, phase 1 of which is designed to provide a supply of water for the new ESB station at Tarbert, County Kerry, is at present under examination in my Department.

A proposal for the laying of a new watermain to provide a supply of water for constructional purposes at the generating station, together with a loan application to finance this work is also under consideration.
