Vol. 223 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Telephone Kiosks.

61.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when he expects that a telephone kiosk will be provided for the residents of Park Road, Navan Road, Dublin.

62.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the urgent need which exists for the provision of a telephone kiosk at Park Road, Dublin; and when this service will be available.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 61 and 62 together.

The consent of the local authority to a site for the kiosk has been requested and arrangements will be made to provide it as soon as possible after receipt of their consent.

63.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the telephone kiosk at Clonsilla, County Dublin, has been out of order for several months; and if he will take steps to have this remedied so that residents who have not private phones may be able to make calls when the post office closes at night.

The answer to the first part of the question is no and the second part does not therefore arise.

I assume the Minister has had this matter examined?

Can he state definitely that there has not been anything wrong with the telephone kiosk and that the people there are just imagining it?

It has been interfered with a few times in the past 12 months. On each occasion it was cleared the same day.

The money?

The box. The money was cleared a few times, too.

I can assure the Minister it was not the people of County Dublin.
