Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Special Employment Schemes.

3.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed to reopen the list for applicants in group schemes under the special employment schemes.

I regret that I am not yet in a position to say how soon it will be possible to resume generally the acceptance of new applications under the Rural Improvements Scheme. As stated in my reply to Questions Nos. 34 and 35 on 27th April last the applications already on hands are more than sufficient to absorb the allocation for the current year.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary indicate if the applications he already has on hands are being dealt with or are they in abeyance?

The applications on hands are being dealt with.

Expeditiously?
