Vol. 223 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Vocational Schools.

37.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in sanctioning loans required by the town of Galway (a) for an addition to Father Griffin Road vocational school, and (b) for a new vocational school at Moneenageisha Cross; and when he will sanction them.

I sanctioned the borrowing of £160,000 by the Town of Galway Vocational Education Committee for the new vocational school at Moneenageisha on 11th June, 1965.

The question of authorising the provision of prefabricated classrooms as an extension to the vocational school in Father Griffin Road is still under consideration. I hope to be in a position to give a decision on it very shortly, and in the meantime sanction for the loan in respect of this project must be deferred.
