asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of voluntary contributors immediately before the compulsory limit was raised to £1,200 a year; and the number of voluntary contributors following such increase.

The number of voluntary contributors prior to 6th September, 1965, the date on which the remuneration limit for insurance was raised to £1,200 a year was 10,819 comprising 9,678 men and 1,141 women. At present, the number of voluntary contributors is 6,190, comprising 5,700 men and 490 women.
