Vol. 224 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Swords (Dublin) Sewerage Facilities.

56.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will urge upon Dublin County Council the desirability of connecting the houses nearby to the council septic tank at Watery Lane, Swords; if he will ask the County Manager to have special efforts made to overcome whatever technical difficulties may exist; and if he will indicate the present position.

I understand from Dublin County Council that it would not be feasible to connect the cottages at Watery Lane, Swords, to the nearby septic tank as the ground levels are such that drainage by gravity to the septic tank would be impossible and further, that even if it were feasible to make a connection the additional sewage effluent discharge would result in the creation of a nuisance with danger to public health.
