Vol. 224 No. 13

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 10, 11 and 12, and in No. 12, Vote 42. If not already reached, it is proposed to take No. 12, Vote 42, at 7.30 p.m. Private Members' business will be taken from 6 o'clock to 7.30 p.m.

Would it be possible to take Motion No. 31 with No. 12?

I have no objection.

I should like to consider that. I have had no notice of that suggestion.

The Minister has been notified about it. Does the Taoiseach propose to have it taken?

I am saying that I propose to consider the Deputy's request.

It would have to be dealt with now as otherwise it could not be taken at 7.30 p.m. The Minister agrees to its being taken.

I move No. 1——

Before the Minister moves No. 1, could we get a definite decision on this?

The Taoiseach said he would consider it.

There are obvious objections to having a discussion which is intended to cover the activities of a whole Department concentrated on one narrow issue.

The Taoiseach will understand that the subject of this motion cannot be debated fully on the Estimate. This is suggested to save time.

I shall consider it.

Will the Taoiseach let us know in ten minutes?

Certainly before the Estimate is taken.

It will have to be ordered by the House now or it cannot be taken.

No, not necessarily.

Before 7.30 p.m.

If that is the ruling, I shall accept that.
