Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Condition of Offaly School.

117.

asked the Minister for Education if he has received reports on the condition of the national school, at Bloomhill, County Offaly, to the effect that 42 children have no toilet facilities; that the windows are broken and that rat traps are set in the class rooms; and if he will cause an immediate investigation with a view to the carrying out of repairs so that parents may resume sending their children to the school where, owing to the condition of the building, classes could not be held during the past five weeks.

Mr. O'Malley

I am aware of the condition of Bloomhill national school. My Department is in communication with the manager regarding the amalgamation of this school with Ballinahowen national school and the provision of free transport thereto for the children of the Bloomhill area.
