Vol. 225 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grants for Prefabricated Dwellings.

36.

asked the Minister for Local Government what grants, if any, are available to persons erecting new dwellings of the wooden prefabricated type; and if he will ensure that this type of house carries the same grants as more conventional houses.

An examination of the extent to which timber housing, including the prefabricated type, should be accepted for grant purposes is at present being carried out in my Department in co-operation with An Foras Forbartha. An explanatory memorandum setting out the minimum standards required will be available shortly.
