Vol. 225 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Monaghan Forestry Employees.

21.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that four men having from ten to 15 years service in the Forestry Branch of his Department have been paid off in the Rossmore forestry estate, County Monaghan; and whether he can hold out any prospect of their early reemployment.

I am aware that it was necessary to reduce the staff at Monaghan forest—of which the Rossmore lands form part—by three men at the end of September, 1966, due to non-availability of work at the forest. I regret that there is no immediate prospect of re-employing the men concerned.
