Vol. 225 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mutton and Beef Prices.

58.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if representatives of his Department have conducted, or are in the course of conducting, an investigation into prices charged for mutton and beef offered for sale in shops in the Dublin area; and, if so, if he will publish a report on such investigation as soon as possible.

The answer to the first part of the question is "No"; and the second part does not, therefore, arise.

I would also refer to my answer to a question on 13th October, 1966 (Cols. 1318-1321) about meat prices.

Obviously, the Minister is not aware that some people are going around the city of Dublin canvassing prices and indicating that they are acting on behalf of his Department. Will he look into the matter?

I am not so aware. I shall look into the matter.
