Vol. 225 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Government Borrowing.

104.

asked the Minister for Finance the total amount of money borrowed from all sources by the Government since 1st April, 1965, to the latest date available.

The total net amount borrowed from all sources by the Government since 1st April, 1965, was £126.36 million.

Are we to add that to the national debt of £715 million?

That is a separate question and does not arise.

I have already described the Deputy as one of the hookiest statisticians in this House. I should not like to take any figure he would give as accurate.

What would be said if I were to refer to the Minister as the hookiest Minister in this House?
