asked the Minister for Local Government the number of families deemed to be in need of rehousing in (a) South Tipperary County Council area, (b) Clonmel, (c) Tipperary town, (d) Cashel, (e) Carrick-on-Suir, (f) Lismore, (g) Cappoquin, and (h) Tallow; and what steps are being taken in each area to provide housing for these families.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Work on 28 dwellings will commence shortly. Plans are being prepared for a further 100 dwellings for which sites have been acquired.

(b) Clonmel Borough

A scheme of 14 houses is in progress. Plans are being prepared for a further scheme of 24 houses.

(c) Tipperary Urban District.

Plans are being prepared for a scheme of 28 houses.

(d) Cashel Urban District.
